Returns and warehouse deals: When "like new" is worth it
Returned items are often unused but significantly cheaper. Here's what you should check regarding condition, warranty and returns.

Many retailers sell returns as inspected used goods, often with 10 to 40 percent discount. The items were usually only unpacked or have damaged packaging.
Understanding condition grades
- Like new: Original packaging, complete accessories, no signs of use
- Very good: Minimal marks, packaging may be missing
- Good: Visible marks, full functionality
- Acceptable: Obvious marks, possibly missing accessories
For electronics and kitchen items, "like new" and "very good" are worth it. For children's toys, textiles and hygiene products, we recommend new items.
Warranty and returns
Whether the manufacturer's warranty runs from your purchase date or from the first sale is governed by the manufacturer's warranty terms, so check beforehand. For used goods, the retailer may also shorten the statutory warranty to one year if they explicitly point this out. However, the statutory right of withdrawal applies in full: 14 days, often voluntarily 30. Check the device immediately upon receipt and return it right away if there are defects.
When waiting pays off
Warehouse stock fluctuates daily. If a product is currently not available in the desired condition, it usually reappears within a week. A quick look in the morning is enough, as many returns are logged overnight.
Our conclusion
For electronics, household appliances and tools, inspected return goods are one of the most reliable ways to save money. The discount is genuine because it's based on the actual new price, not a crossed-out price.
